Sidmouth FolkWeek's Children's Festival requires a Brass Tutor to work with The Sidmouth Seaside Stompers Ceilidh Band Workshop. The daily workshops are 90 minutes long leading to performance as the band for the Thursday evening ceilidh in Blackmore Gardens Marquee.

All tutors join Team Stompit! and work under the leadership of Ray Langton. Written notation is provided for all instruments and distributed at the first workshop. Tutors receive this music in advance.

Looking for a few musicians to collaborate with

Musicians wanted! I'm looking for some people to collaborate with on new projects... I'm a singer and guitarist, but hopefully an alright one - my last release got a fROOTS album of the year award, a nomination from FATEA and a fair bit of radio play. Also shortly will have a bit of recording studio space I want to make use of! Happy to consider doing anything interesting, but probably weird arrangements of trad English folk is where my heart lies... This is me and my band (we are unfortunately spread out across the country) website Email Tim for more information
Date listed 23.02.18.

We're preparing for 2018 festival gigs. We're all mature musicians with family commitments so 1-3 gigs per month is what we're looking at. We rehearse on Thursdays fortnightly in a lovely venue just outside Ilminster. Please get in touch if this is of interest. Email Jon

Established Irish band needs new member
The Fountaineers Irish music band is looking for a 4th member to help us give audiences in East Devon and beyond a taste of traditional Irish and more. We are an established band with a history of playing in pubs, local festivals and private events. In 2016 we made our festival debut at The River cottage music fest and have since gone on to play at Respect and Goren festivals. We normally practice in Ottery St Mary and the current line up is guitarist/ vocalist, flautist/whistle player/ uilleann pipes and bodhran. We need a melody player, preferably a fiddler but others considered. You can find us and message us on our FaceBook page or telephone Adrian on 01404 814202. Be lovely to have you on board!
Date listed 24.01.18.

Acoustic Guitarist
Experienced DADGAD acoustic guitarist sought for occasional dep work with increasingly busy traditional Irish/Scots/World folk trio based in Devon. Our usual guitar/accordion/whistle player is a much regarded performer at the highest level, and as such is at times unavailable, so the person we’d seek to replace him would be filling some very big musical shoes. Ability on other melodic instruments as well as guitar would be a big bonus, as it would add greatly to our existing fiddle-led sets. We’d have an expectation of a wide knowledge of traditional folk material, and for any potential players to be happy to audition/rehearse with us. If this may be of interest to you, please drop us an email, with any useful audio or video links attached, to enquries@dumbosfeather.co.uk

Male Singers
